‘Mensonges,

A Freedom under my right

is where my inner place

whittles with the silent night.

Where my heart has spoken;

“I surrender you my inner light.”

My truth is not to be known by all,

but only felt by a few in sight.

In a labyrinth of lies,

where my heart stops,

I sought for your disguise.

For I was a stranger,

hidden in the dark,

to the well-known eyes.

As I near closely,

frightened,

I hear the roaring skies.

So here I see my pride

and where I have fallen

I remember my tears from inside.

To the well-known I plea;

“I surrender my hidden faces from outside.”

    Oddly enough your poem brought this one to my mind so I thought I would share. How beautiful words can be!

      • It isn’t written by me, but it is a poem I carry around with me. Yours reminded me of it and I wanted to share it with you. The poet is Mary Carshore long dead and almost completely forgotten.

  7. This is beautiful!! Such amazingly woven words!
    I’d honestly go with the truth on face even if it hurts.. other than a lie straight on face.. I believe that hurts even more when the truth unfolds after the lie.
