‘Conviction,

In the dark hours I remember

how no one could hear me scream.

Where I would reach out with my heart

as I prayed to my regime.

But hope was lost,

like the light in my eyes,

as I was chattered until I lost my dream.

In this moment,

where nothing is black and white,

I try not to drown in my own bloodstream.

Please,

for whomever could hear my words,

I ask nothing more than to be heard.

For I am forsaken to know that

all that I love had to be blurred.

As I waltz again for a new morrow

I arise, close my eyes and hear my songbird.
