‘quiet,

As I face the sun,

softly spoken,

I feel the desire

to bloom

with shallow roses.

To open my heart,

a misfit with scars,

I show you

my pain as

the door closes.

Be the reason

for my smile,

as this is my path

that I haven’t

run for a mile.

Two skies

with shadows

kiss me sweet

as I feel gentile.

With thorns

to cut, I linger

with my finger,

as the world

abandoned my window.
