‘Trust,

Before sunrise the rain

cries at night, therefore,

I close my eyes as I hide.

Please, I beg you to not

to forget, to have forgotten,

about my pride.

To have cried million

nights, I will always

see the moon change

the tide. If earth

had spoken to me

what would I say

if she lied?

Here I feel the stream

of water drain

with my blood.

Ne’er will I surrender,

even when I flood.

These are my wandering

rivers, with glances, as I cried.

Angels, to love or not to love,

with these question I whisper

to my heart from inside.

When the world stands still

I shall open my eyes

for the world outside.

  2. This poem speaks to me about the way we can sometimes create a perspective in our own mind which is not based on reality at all. We can see things, and interpret them in such a way, that it shapes how we act – and not always in the best way!

There’s a lot of thought provoking stuff in here, and I may have to return to it, and mull it over some more to glean more from it. ✨

    • Hi Hamish, wow, I’m flabbergasted how well you understood the message in my poem. And yes indeed, we can create our own perspective. I’m just glad you could openly say this with me, I always love one another perspective whenever I share my work. That’s what you did, so thank you for that. Also, I’m thankful for your time for reading my work ❤️🙏🏽

Let me know what you can glean from it in the future 😊

  3. Reading through this poem again has lifted two phrases we can find ourselves using, and which can cause conflict within ourselves. This conflict can lead to inaction, rather than encouraging forward progress.

The first, “A candle burns brightest before it flickers out.”
The second, “It is always darkest before the dawn.”

Again, perspective is important. Darkness and light exist in opposition of each other, but both must exist for us to perceive the other. At times I have experienced the weight of darkness, and the freeing joy of light. Your words have reminded me of the joy in all our lives, whether we are going through highs or lows. Thank you once again for your words.

    • Ohw wwo, Hamish. How could I have almost missed this amazing comment from you. I’m glad I always check my spam folder 😅 it got lost in there, but I found you!

And yes, well said, Hamish! Love the two quotes you compared with my work.
Especially the part about how my work reminded you of the next; ” of the joy in all our lives, whether we are going through high or lows.”

You know, I’m always flabbergasted how someone else can understand my work, in the Little things they notice everything. That’s why I write and that’s why I want to write. To be inspired, to inspire and eventually aspire! 🙏🏽❤️ Thanks again, Hamish. It’s always my pleasure to share my work ❤️
