‘Perdita,

To not wander nor believe

I speak of my prayers as I await my soul.

For this path I have chosen I say;

“Come to fright as I am.”

Of these thoughts I share my hope.

In a time when we conquer hearts

we seek for waves throughout the sea.

To seek nor allure my inner pope

as I close my ears and whittle to myself;

“thou shall not kill as I hold my rope.”

.

.

.

To be loved;

“Take care of me as I’m not alone.”

for I’m frightened I run into the darkness.

To scream nor talk my tongue beholds my tone….

I am as I am, a wanderer.

In haven of thoughts I say;

“I am lost, but not by my own.”

  2. You know what I really love about your poems in particular?

    Often, you use words that actually startle me – words that I would never have expected in advance. And by doing so – you make me reconsider what those words could mean, at least metaphorically.
