‘too late,

Asking for forgiveness in my heart, breaking every thorn on every rose and feeling regret in my fingers. I am awake, afraid and terrified while my whole body lingers! My father, let me do what I can’t sin! For thou I shall open my eyes thin, as the flower that blooms for the Jinn. Softly feeling the wind touching my skin. I was defined by every little hope I had in faith. Night time, I close my eyes. Dark memories pop in my mind. the sky dark with stars to shine, in search, for my path to find. Going under the wind, rebirth, I set loose every tear. Walls kept me locked down, my dear!

  1. This is heart-achingly beautiful, I keep re-reading. Is the poem comparing the “father” to the Jinn, Jojo? ;)) 🎶 ❀🧞‍♂️ I love the line about breaking every thorn on every rose, while feeling regret in the fingers… I like the way so many layers of meaning are compacted into one paragraph of text. ✦✧✩✴︎💫

    • Thank you so much, lia! I’m glad you like it so much 🥰

Fair question, lia. “my father” can be whom ever you want to be.. It’s a paradox. It can be and i can’t be the “jinn”.

And it’s funny, because when I wrote down that line (breaking every thorn on every rose) I really started to visualize it and feel it in my fingers. 🙈
